The Girl Plays Jazz Project (established in December 2017) is dedicated to the support and promotion of girls and young women in jazz.
Our Project has three strands. We run an introduction to jazz improvisation workshop programme – introducing girls and young women to jazz, funk, blues and world music improvisation, and developing them as jazz musicians. We organise jazz masterclasses where top level professionals from the London jazz scene come in to teach the girls. We also arrange performance and development opportunities for the girls in well known London venues. Please see our workshops page for full details of all our workshops and how to register.
We are committed to tackling the climate emergency – in 2023 we achieved Carbon neutrality across all our scope 1 to 3 emissions – please see our NET ZERO page for more details.
